If you are interested in getting out on one of the ships, you may be able to go on one of the following dates.  More dates will be added, so keep an eye on this page! Let George or Linda know if you are interested (as far ahead as possible).

• June 17th - Melissa, Spencer, and Hank - need to be at dock by 0630
• June 18th - Point Lobos - Chaffey; Roman and Katie
• June 22nd - Point Lobos - Rebecca
• June 24th - Point Lobos trip: Aaron and John
• July 1st - Benthic ROV Cruise (six spots available); contact Linda or George if you are interested. Hana, Bartolome, Daniel, Sara, Katherine, Matthew

  • July 1st - Zephyr - Sandeep

still need to get on the boat:

Isobel, Sandeep, Christopher

Before going out to sea (ask Linda if you have questions; there is some on her desk near the phone):
Dimenhydrinate (50 mg) - same thing as Triptone or Dramamine: 0.5 to 1 tablet before you go to bed

In the morning:
Another 0.5 to 1 tablet as soon as you get up (this needs time to work - if you wait until you are on the boat, it is way too late) along with 1 caffeine tablet.
Eat something bland like bananas , graham crackers, saltines, Ensure
NO coffee or juice (too much acid)

Four hours later (depending on how you feel - if it is very calm out there, you might be able to skip this)
Another 0.5 to 1 tablet, and 1 caffeine tablet
Eat something bland like bananas , graham crackers, saltines, Ensure
NO coffee or juice (too much acid)

Where can we find information regarding those field work days?
I would like to go to sea, but I am specially interested if there is equipment being deployed (ROV, AUV, moorings, etc.).
Is there any way of estimating when more dates will be added? July and August are still almost empty.

Hi Bartolome et al...
So the best place to see what is going on is the web calendar from the MBARI internal webpage. This is the most current and up-to-date location to find out. Each of the days should have a hyperlink to that days mission so you can see what is being planned. These precruises usually go up about a week before the cruise.
